Remember those kitchen table discussions with Grandma juggling a business idea while tending to the household? That's where our mompreneurial spirit was nurtured. Back then, societal norms and limited resources meant these ventures often remained dreams, but those dreams ignited the fire in us.
There were and still are so many challenges, ah the challenges—our daily companions on this rollercoaster ride! The struggle to balance our business ambitions with the demands of raising a family can be overwhelming. The guilt of not doing enough for the business or the kids? Oh yes, that's a familiar pang.
Then there's imposter syndrome, that sneaky voice questioning our capabilities. And the financial tightrope we walk, trying to bootstrap while ensuring the family's needs are met. It's like spinning plates, isn't it?
Let's share our tricks of the trade! Time management isn't just about cramming more into our schedules; it's about setting boundaries and mastering the art of delegation. Saying 'no' to tasks that don't align with our priorities? That's become my superpower! In 2023 I was forced to learn how to do this through health restrictions, but through it all, I am so grateful for the lessons that it brought.
And can we talk about imposter syndrome? I've learned to embrace it as a sign that I'm pushing boundaries. Recognizing my achievements, celebrating small wins, and giving myself credit—these have been game-changers. If I were the smartest person in the room, I would be in the wrong room. So feeling like I do not belong at the table is normally a really good sign.
Can we pause and take a moment to appreciate the wonders of technology? Social media—our free stage to showcase our businesses! Remote work? A lifeline for attending school plays and sealing deals simultaneously. The landscape has shifted, and we're embracing it. Once we lean into social and stop trying to fight it, you can really see what an amazing tool it can be! It has allowed me to make my business fully remote and teach other mompreneurs to do the same! To be fully present for all of the moments that matter the most!
The future looks bright! From leveraging e-commerce to embracing remote collaboration, the sky's the limit. With tech advancements and changing work norms, the opportunities for our businesses are multiplying.
